A person has been successfully talked down from the Orwell Bridge this morning.

Officers were called to the scene shortly before 6am today, and closed the bridge in both directions while they responded to the incident.

Traffic was at a standstill between junction 56, Wherstead and junction 57, Nacton for approximately 10 minutes, a police spokeswoman said.

The bridge has since been reopened and traffic is now moving again.
