It is time for another instalment from our #ThrowbackThursday and here we head back to August 1980 when the summer sun was beaming down on Suffolk’s county town.
We kick things off at Broomhill Pool. With temperatures soaring the outdoor pool was the obvious place to cool off.
Next we move onto Britannia Road School where children were taking their cycling proficiency tests to learn how to cycle safely around the town.
The First Floor Club was a social hub back in its heyday. Here we see competitors from the annual disco dancing pairs competition that the club hosted.
Over to Westbourne School next where gymnasts were bouncing high in the sports hall. Our pictures show pupils learning different tricks and techniques in their trampolining sessions,
And finally over to Brookhall School where the children were treated to a play day with an assortment of inflatables to clamber on.
