During his lifetime the comedian made many visits to Suffolk - our gallery includes pictures from May 31, 2009 and May 28, 2011 when he performed at The Regent in Ipswich.
Sir Ken was known for his legendary long live shows and in 2004 The Regent was home to one.
The star put on a show which lasted over five hours and finished at 1.15am. As people were leaving the comedy genius joked “Don’t bother getting a taxi, get a milk float.”

In 2011, our Entertainment writer Wayne Savage interviewed the comedy legend and asked him why he lets his shows over-run.
He said: “When the whole thing is swinging and the audience are really laughing their heads off it’s very difficult to say ‘you know, that’s it folks’. You don’t want to be a party pooper and the doors aren’t locked, it’s not a hostage situation; anybody who wants to go home early can do.”
