POLICE and the fire service were on alert tonight after a member of the public reported seeing an aircraft in trouble.

It was believed the plane had landed somewhere in the Halesworth area but a search was carried out and nothing was found.
Wattisham Airfield was also alerted but was stood down along with the fire service following the all clear from police.
