The Post Office store in Sailmakers Shopping Centre, Ipswich, is proposing to move into the WH Smith store in Westgate Street.
The Post Office today unveiled the proposals with the launch of a consultation asking customers what they think of the plans.
The consultation ends in November ahead of a planned move in March next year.
A statement from the company said the Post Office would have four serving counters (three open plan and one screened) and two self-service kiosks.
