A DESPERATE mother is today appealing for information to help find her teenage son.

Nicki Durbin, 37, says her family is “frantic” with worry over the mysterious disappearance of 19-year-old Luke Durbin following a night out with friends at Zest nightclub last Thursday .

Mrs Durbin, who lives in Hollesley, said: “We are frantic and have gone through every conceivable emotion.

“This is totally out of character for Luke.

“He does go out and does not necessarily phone me until the next morning but he has never done anything like this before,” she added.

Mrs Durbin says she has no idea why her “bright and intelligent” son has vanished as he loves his job at a greengrocers in Aldeburgh and is always happy and sociable.

“We are a very close family and Luke is very considerate, he just wouldn't do this kind of thing,”

“He has got a huge circle off friends but not one of them has heard anything from him.

Mrs Durbin says police are following up a reported sighting of Luke at Sainsbury's in Ipswich.

However she believes efforts to trace him via bank transactions have proved fruitless.

Mr Durbin was last seen in the early hours of Friday morning and failed to return to his home, where he lives with his mum and 16-year-old sister, or work as expected.

He also failed to pick up personal property including a mobile phone from a friend's home.

Police officers have upped their search for Mr Durbin and are growing increasingly worried for him.

A spokeswoman for the force yesterday said: “The longer he is away the more concerned we are.

Mr Durbin is described as white 5ft 10in, of slim build, with short mousy-coloured wavy hair and blue eyes.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a black or grey long-sleeved collared shirt, blue jeans and brown suede shoes.

Police are asking Mr Durbin, or anyone with information about where he is, to contact Woodbridge police station on 01473 613500.
