Fears for a man’s safety yesterday sparked the second emergency rescue search around the Orwell Bridge in just three days.
At 10.40am Suffolk police, Felixstowe Coastguard Rescue Team and Harwich Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Inshore Lifeboat searched the vicinity of the bridge after reports of a man acting suspiciously on the bridge, but nothing untoward was found.
Police are still trying to find out what happened to a man whose trainers were found after he was reported to have fallen from the bridge on Thursday.
