IPSWICH Police are appealing for information following a terrifying car robbery.

The incident happened at about 8.15pm on Thursday in the town's Allenby Road after a 28-year-old man, who had advertised his car in Auto Trader, had taken it on a test drive with two prospective buyers.

The 28-year-old drove around the block a couple of times and on returning to Allenby Road one of the men interested in buying the vehicle suggested a wheel was making a noise.

He got out to investigate and was dragged away by one, while the other sped off dragging the victim a short distance. Moments later three males in a small dark coloured car picked up the man left behind.

The stolen dark silver/grey Audi RS6 Quattro, index YE52SXY, is valued at about 15,000, and it is possible that this vehicle is now being used on false plates.

The car the two men arrived in was left at the scene and was found to be stolen and on false plates. Plates of other stolen vehicles were also found in the boot and this car has been seized for examination.

The male who distracted the victim is described as white, aged 35 to 40-years-old, about five feet seven inches tall with an average build, unshaven with patches of grey in his stubble, with short dark hair and a Welsh accent. He was wearing dark clothing.

The offender who drove off in the Audi is described as white, aged in his 30s, about five feet two inches tall with a slim build, pale complexion, prominent cheek bones, dark eyes and dark hair in a curtain style and had a Welsh accent. He too wore dark clothing and was unshaven and was possibly trying to grow a moustache.

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Dc Sophie Leone at Ipswich CID on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
