A 28-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Tendring, near Colchester, today.

The biker was in Heath Road and travelling towards Clacton when he was in collision with a recovery vehicle, owned by Hedingham Buses, at 9.07am.

The motorcyclist, who was riding a silver Yamaha, died at the scene.

Fire crews from Weeley, Clacton and Colchester attended. They worked alongside a vehicle recovery unit and used a heavy lifting wrecker and a wrench to release the motorcyclist.

The road was closed while officers investigated the cause of the accident and reopened at 1.15pm.
