Police are appealing for witnesses after a single vehicle crash in Wickham Market at the weekend.

The incident took place on Saturday, September 16, at 12.10am on the B1438 opposite a cemetery in the large Suffolk village.

A black Ford Fiesta was travelling on the road when it struck a kerb before going down an embankment – striking a tree in the process.

The 28-year-old driver from Ipswich sustained internal injuries and broken ribs in the accident and was taken to Ipswich hospital for further treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact Suffolk police’s serious collision investigation team on 101 quoting CAD 9 of September 16.

The B1438 runs through the centre of Wickham Market, which is located around five miles from Woodbridge.

The village, which has around 2,200 residents, is close to nearby Suffolk coastal attractions including Valley Farm Equestrian Visitor Centre, Easton Farm Park, Glevering Hall, the Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle and Sutton Hoo.
