POLICE in Stowmarket have issued an e-fit image of a woman they wish to speak to in connection with a string of violent assaults on a teenage girl in the town.

The 16-year-old girl has been the victim of three attacks in recent weeks and the same woman, who has distinctive facial piercings, was involved in them all.

The first incident took place on Thursday November 19 near a garage block off Lindsey Way at about 8.30am and the girl was left with scratches and bruising to her face.

Her attacker has been described as being white, in her late 20s, about 5ft 6ins tall, of a medium build and with shoulder-length dyed blonde hair.

She was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and trainers and had piercings in her lip, chin, nose and eyebrow.

A week later on Thursday November 26 at about 8.45am the girl was assaulted again, this time in an alleyway off Ipswich Street. Her attacker was wearing a grey hooded top and had her hair in a ponytail.

The third assault was on Friday December 4 at about 9am and took place on Church Meadow, Lindsey Way. The girl suffered scratches and bruises to her face again and this time the woman was wearing a khaki jacket and white t-shirt.

She left the scene in an old silver Peugeot with a dent on the rear offside panel.

A police spokesman said: “We want to hear from anyone with any information about these incidents, anyone who was in the area of the assaults at the time or anyone who may recognise the female from the e-fit likeness.”

Any witnesses to these attacks or anyone who recognizes the woman in the e-fit can speak to Pc Steve Seal at Stowmarket Police Station on 01473 613500 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
