A POLICE car answering an emergency call was involved in a collision in Ipswich today.

The crash at the junction of Norwich Road and Highfield Approach happened just after 5pm but the occupants of the police car and the male driver of the Peugeot it collided with all escaped serious injury.

The collision was the second time in as many days that a marked police car answering an emergency call was involved in a crash.

On Tuesday night a patrol car collided with a Skoda in Landseer Road, Ipswich, before careering into a fence post and telegraph police.

Suffolk Constabulary has launched investigations into both crashes.
