IPSWICH: Detectives today continue to investigate a violent sex attack after a teenager was allegedly raped in woodland.

Police have been investigating the attack since a 17-year-old girl reported being snatched in Landseer Road and raped in woodland next to Holywells Road at around 7pm on Friday.

Two prime witnesses have been asked to come forward who were seen in the area and may have useful information – a black man, who had twists in his hair and carried a rucksack, and a white man who may have seen the victim talking with another woman in Cliff Lane following the attack.

The suspect is described as white, aged approximately 47 years old, of medium build with a shaved head. He is believed to have been wearing jeans.

Police would like to hear from anyone who many have been in the vicinity of the Cliff Lane and Holywells Road area at the time of the alleged incident.

If you can help the inquiry contact the Suffolk and Norfolk major investigation team on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
