Police expert charged over guns

A FORCE gun expert who advised Suffolk police has been charged with a string of firearms offences.

A gun expert who advised Suffolk and Norfolk police has been charged with a string of firearms offences.

Richard Ashley, 55, of Fen Road, Pakenham, near Bury St Edmunds, was arrested at his home on February 14.

He will appear before Bury magistrates on Thursday charged with 16 separate firearms offences.

Ashley held a civilian post with Suffolk Constabulary maintaining and supplying much of the force's arsenal as well as advising on firearms matters.
