Police have apologised to cyclists after failing to turn up to a crime reduction and safety awareness event in Ipswich.
Cyclists were told they could get their bikes marked and have a free bike check at the event at Barrack Corner in Norwich Road from 4pm to 6pm today.
Police announced the event two weeks ago but no-one from the police force turned up due to a “mix-up” in giving out the wrong date.
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for the mix-up in issuing the incorrect date for a bicycle crime reduction event.
“Anyone who tried to attend today, who would like their bicycle marked, is welcome to call Ipswich Central Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 to arrange an appointment.”
The event is understood to be taking place later this week.
