POLICE investigating an armed robbery in Brantham are today appealing for information on the getaway car they believe has been found after the raiders discarded it.

POLICE investigating an armed robbery in Brantham are today appealing for information on the getaway car they believe has been found after the raiders discarded it.

The robbery happened at the Co-op at around 8.15pm on Monday .

Two men wearing balaclavas threatened staff with a shotgun and a screwdriver and escaped with a quantity of cash, both from the till and a safe at the back of the store.

Both men left the store and left in a waiting vehicle which had a third man inside

A green Subaru estate car, registration F214 NBJ, was found abandoned at the Brantham Bowls Club car park at around 8am on Tuesday . The car was reported as stolen from an address in Boxford sometime between Sunday and Tuesday .

Police believe the robbers used this vehicle and they are very keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the car being stolen, knew the whereabouts of the vehicle prior to the robbery taking place, or saw the car being abandoned at the bowls club car park.

The two offenders are described as white, around 6ft tall and wore burgundy colour balaclavas.
