Police were called to the Orwell Bridge after concerns were raised over a man’s welfare on Friday afternoon.
Officers and the police helicopter were called to the scene at 2.25pm.
The man, in his 30s, was around 500 metres from the Orwell Bridge when officers found and spoke to the man, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said.
He was taken away from the scene by police at around 3.20pm.
No further details are being released.
