POLICE in Ipswich have today appealed for witnesses to a caravan fire in the Priory Heath area of the town.

One fire crew from the Princes Street station attended the blaze shortly after 7.15pm yesterday which totally gutted the derelict 10ft x 25ft caravan situated in Bader Close.

A police spokesperson said they were called to the blaze to reports of a suspicious fire. House-to-house inquiries revealed that the caravan had been there since Friday, but they were unable to trace the owners.

The incident was dealt with by the fire crew within 20 minutes. This morning all that was left of the caravan was it's charred frame.
