WOODBRIDGE: Police are hunting for a prisoner from Hollesley Bay who may have absconded after a trip home for Christmas.

Omar Kabba-Diakite, 38, was allowed to visit a family member in Cardiff on Christmas Eve but failed to return at 5.30pm on Tuesday, December 29.

Kabba-Diakite, who was serving a six-year sentence for customs evasion and drugs importation, is described as black, 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build with close-cropped black hair.

He had previously lived in Cardiff and had family connections in Wales.

Another prisoner, Craig “Lazie” Lynch, disappeared from the same prison on September 23 as he neared the end of a seven-year jail term for aggravated burglary.

The 28-year-old has attracted widespread publicity in recent weeks for regularly taunting police through social networking website Facebook.

If anyone has seen Kabba-Diakite or has information about his whereabouts, they should contact police and not take further action themselves.

Witnesses are urged to call Suffolk Police on 01473 613500 or their nearest police station.
