Police hunt thief who preyed on OAP

AN elderly lady was hurt when a thief pounced on her as she walked to her local post office in Ipswich.The 91-year-old woman was walking along Bramford Road when the man grabbed her canvas shopping bag from her shoulder, causing her to fall the ground.

AN elderly lady was hurt when a thief pounced on her as she walked to her local post office in Ipswich.

The 91-year-old woman was walking along Bramford Road when the man grabbed her canvas shopping bag from her shoulder, causing her to fall the ground.

Police were today hunting the man, who they said had cycled passed the woman at about 2.30pm yesterday before putting his bike against a wall and walking toward her.

After yanking the bag from her, the man walked back to his bike and rode off along the pavement toward Yarmouth Road.

The woman suffered a bruised knee.

The man is described as white, with a stocky build and was aged between 30 and 35 years. He was wearing a woolly hat, black trousers and a black and cream jacket.
