POLICE are searching for a pair of conmen who tricked an elderly woman into giving them £200.
The men went to the home of the 92-year-old, in Penzance Road, Kesgrave, posing as painters and demanding money for work they claimed to have already done to the house.
The scam artists initially insisted the woman hand over £450 for the work. When she claimed not to keep that amount of money at home, the men suggested walking her to the nearest cash machine.
The woman refused to go with them but handed over £200 in cash.
One of the men is described as white, between 30 and 40, short and stocky, with dark hair and wearing a blue coat. The second man was younger and fairer with mousy hair.
Both men were carrying paint cans and arrived in an ageing grey van, smaller than a transit.
