POLICE are linking a spree of attempted burglaries that took place across the county early today.

Break-ins and attempted break-ins were reported in Claydon, Old Newton and Coddenham between 12.15am and 1.03am this morning.

The first incident happened shortly after midnight at a community building in Claydon. Thieves forced the doors of the building and once inside broke into a gaming machine stealing cash.

Soon afterwards between 12.15am and 12.30am a Little Chef roadside restaurant at Beacon Hill near Coddenham was broken into.

The door of the building was forced open but nothing was taken from inside.

The manager of the restaurant was called in during the early hours of this morning, but by that time police had already moved on to Old Newton where thieves had attempted to steal from the Old Newton Sports and Social Club.

All three incidents took place within an hour of each other and police are linking them.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said: “We are linking the three incidents due to their close location and time scale. “Anybody with information regarding the attempted burglaries should call Stowmarket CID on 01473 613500.”
