POLICE in Suffolk have launched a rape inquiry after a woman in her 60s claimed she had been sexually assaulted.Officers were called to a home in Lakenheath after the woman reported two people entering it and stealing money at around 5.30am on Wednesday.

Officers were called to a home in Lakenheath after the woman reported two people entering it and stealing money at around 5.30am on Wednesday.

The woman later claimed to have been raped by one of the intruders during the burglary.

The man is described as around 40-years-old, big build, around 6ft, with a round face, large ears and dark hair.

Specially trained officers are working closely with the victim to establish exactly what happened and offer any support she may need.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious between 10pm on Tuesday and 6am on Wednesday, or who may have information about the incident.
