A man has been released on bail by police investigating a rape in Ipswich.

The incident happened around 3.30am on Friday morning at a car park in Lower Brook Street.

An 18-year-old woman reported being raped and later an 18-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning but has now been bailed to return there on November 5 pending further enquiries.
