Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on Heath Road, Ipswich, at about 6.20pm.
A Honda Fireblade 1000cc motorcycle, carrying a solo rider and travelling northbound, in the direction of Woodbridge Road, collided with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian who was today named as Bernard Packard, 81, from Spring Road, Ipswich, later died from his injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the accident or provide information to call Pc Beth Harper at the road's policing unit on 01473 613500.
