POLICE have launched an investigation following a fire in a derelict building in Ipswich today.
Flames took hold at a disused ice cream factory on Grimwade Street at some time before 3pm.
Fire crews were alerted by a member of the public and two pumps attended the scene.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames within 10 minutes and the building was ventilated.
A Fire Service spokesman said the cause of the fire was being treated as suspicious.
