Two robberies which happened in Ipswich on Friday and Saturday are believed to be linked.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to both incidents in an effort to catch those responsible.

The first happened on July 10 between 11.30am and 12noon in Civic Drive.

Two men have approached a 24-year-old man from behind and threatened him. One was holding out a knife and the victim handed over his wallet, passport and iPhone 6.

The first offender is described as a white man, tall in height, and was wearing black coloured shoes and a beanie hat.

The second offender is described as white with a very pale complexion, also tall in height and bald.

The other incident happened on July 11 between 8.30pm and 9pm in an alleyway in St Stephens Church Lane.

Four men approached a 28-year-old man; one has pushed him against the wall while another stole his mobile phone and wallet, containing an amount of cash and cards.

The four men then ran away from the scene.

The first offender is described as white, aged in his forties, had a shaved head with a dark coloured quiff of hair at the front, was approximately 5ft 10in tall, of an average build and was wearing a jacket.

The second offender is described as white, aged in his mid-twenties and of a slim build. There are no descriptions of the other two men.
