POLICE are examining CCTV footage taken moments before a couple were killed by a commuter train at Harlow Mill train station, Essex.
Investigators want to establish how Dean Pickard, 33, from Hoddesdon, Herts, and Katie Gumble, 35, from Harlow, Essex, ended up on the tracks.
One witness said they heard raised voices before the incident and that the two had been heard arguing while on the platform.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Just before 8am the train driver reported striking at least one person on the line at Harlow Mill station. The train was approaching the station at around 80mph.”
The 6.18 from King's Lynn to London Liverpool Street had not been due to stop at the station. The driver spotted the pair on the track and sounded his horn but was unable to bring the train to a halt.
