Police probe 'unexplained' death
AN investigation has been launched after the body of a 42-year-old man was discovered at a property in Diss.
AN investigation has been launched after firefighters found the body of a 42-year-old man as they tackled a shed blaze at a south Norfolk town.
Detectives and scenes of crime officers were today conducting enquiries at a bungalow near Diss town centre following the discovery.
Two crews from Diss fire station were called to the address in Frenze Road to extinguish a blaze in a shed at the rear of the property at about 11.20pm on Sunday where they found the body.
Police today said they were treating the man's death as unexplained.
Det Chief Insp Neil Firm, of Norfolk Police, confirmed that firefighters had been called to the property overnight, but declined to say where the body had been found.
He said: “A 42-year-old male has been found deceased on Frenze Road. We are treating it as unexplained at the moment.”

“Enquiries will continue today and the coroner has been informed,” he said.
A post mortem examination is expected to take place tomorrow to establish the cause of the man's death, who has not yet been named by police.
A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said four firefighters using breathing apparatus had put out the shed fire by 12.30am today. .
“The fire was quickly brought under control and the crews remained on scene until 3.20am. An investigation to establish the cause of the fire is now underway,” he said.
Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance also attended, but their services were not required.
