SUFFOLK police are renewing their appeal for information as the second week anniversary of a rape allegation by an 18-year-old girl approaches.

The incident is believed to have happened in Ipswich in the early hours of Saturday July 19, possibly between midnight and 4am. The victim was traumatised by the incident and went home before telling a friend who informed the police of her ordeal.

Following a night out the victim became separated from her friends in the London Road/West End Road area of Ipswich and later accepted a lift (from an unidentified location) in a dark coloured car from three males who spoke broken English. She was driven to a couple of locations around Ipswich, one of which was possibly a petrol station, before being taken to a secluded (as yet unidentified) car park where two of the males raped her.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Luckett who is leading the investigation said, “To date we have had little response from the public to our appeals but this is understandable considering the limited information available for release. Somebody out there holds the key to this investigation. Ask yourself if anyone you know has been acting unusually or out of character since Friday July 18 or Saturday July 19. If you do then do not hesitate to come forward and tell us. I continue to urge anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Suffolk police.”

The incident room can be contacted on 01473 613824 or by e-mail at incident.room@suffolk.pnn.police.uk . Calls can also be made to Suffolk police on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
