POLICE are hunting a man who grabbed and indecently assaulted a woman as she bought a car park ticket in Woodbridge.

The 53-year-old victim was left very distressed by the incident.

She was in Oak Lane car park buying a ticket at the machine when the man came up behind her, grabbed her and indecently assaulted her.

She turned round and confronted the attacker, who spoke to her before he ran off.

Acting Det Sgt Trevor Price said police were keen to speak to anyone with information about the attack – especially anyone who saw the man acting suspiciously or hanging around the car park.

"The woman has been left very distressed by this incident," said Det Sgt Price.

"We need to find this man and would urge anyone who may have seen him in the area, or anyone who may have an idea as to his identity, to contact us."

The man is described as white, aged in his early 60s, about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build and with grey or silvery coloured hair, brushed back and neatly cut but receding on top.

He was wearing a burgundy bomber jacket, with a centre zip, and smart grey trousers.

He had a long face, a Suffolk accent and appeared fit for his age as he ran off.

Anyone with information about the man or the incident is asked to contact Pc Mervyn Shelcot at Woodbridge on 01473 383460.
