POLICE investigating a Suffolk car crash in which two young men died are making a new appeal for a potential witness to come forward.

Saxmundham man Samuel Fordham, 28, and 20-year-old Darren Welton from Kelsale died following the crash on the A145 at Henham on Wednesday, January 23. The 24-year-old driver of the car, Sam Morphey, from Yoxford, has now been released from Ipswich hospital after being seriously injured in the crash.

Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the collision.

Police have spoken to a number of motorists who were in the area at the time but now need to trace a vehicle that was seen heading southbound on the A12 at about 7am. The vehicle is thought to have turned right onto the A145 and then possibly onto the B1123 towards Halesworth. It is believed to have been some sort of taxi or private hire vehicle with a roof light.

If this was you, or if you know who it might have been, please call PC Jon Doran or Sgt Steve Knight at Halesworth Roads Policing Unit on 01986 835300.
