More checks have been carried out in Ipswich by police investigating the murder of a man earlier this year.
Nearly three months after 41-year-old Dean Stansby was fatally stabbed in Ancaster Road on February 8, police officers were approaching members of the public walking through the area to ask if they could help in the investigation.
For three hours yesterday evening a small group of plain-clothes officers at the entrance of Gippeswyk Park showed CCTV and dash-cam images of people seen in the area on the night of the attack to members of the public.
Everyone in the pictures has been described as a potential witness by Suffolk Constabulary and they are keen to trace them so the investigation can move forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Caroline Millar said: “We would like to thank all those who have spoken to us and assisted with the enquiry to date, however we still need anyone who can help to come forward.
“We are aware that a lot of people were out that evening, including motorists, pedestrians, dog walkers and bus and train commuters. If you were in the area between 6pm and 7pm, we need to speak to you.
“It’s possible you may have a small piece of information that can help us bring those responsible to justice.”
Mr Stansby was stabbed around 6.30pm and died a short time later in Ipswich Hospital.
Six people are currently on bail in connection with the incident, while a 17-year-old boy who had been arrested on suspicion of murder has been released from bail will no face no further action.
Behind the scenes police have been carrying out forensic examinations, door-to-door enquiries and are continuing to work with other organisations to analyse CCTV footage in more detail.
Yesterday new posters asking for the public’s help in the enquiry were put up in the area.
Under a picture of Mr Stansby and the date of the attack were the sentences: “Were you using a bus service in the area of Ancaster Road and Ranelagh Road, Ipswich between 6pm and 7pm? Did you see or hear anything?”
