DETECTIVES investigating a horrifying stabbing murder in Suffolk were today expected to release the name of the 20-year-old man who was killed.

A post mortem examination on the man's body had been expected to be completed yesterday but wasn't and tests were continuing today.

Police said once the post mortem had been completed they would reveal the man's identity.

Yesterday, at a press conference held in Bury St Edmunds today, Det Chief Insp Dave Skevington said the focus of the enquiry was on finding the driver of a white transit van, which was seen shortly before and after the stabbing on Friday afternoon.

Mr Skevington said the family of the dead man were “absolutely devastated”, and were helping police with their enquiries.

The victim died at West Suffolk Hospital shortly after his body was discovered behind a row of shops near Home Farm Lane, in Bury at about noon on Fridgay.

He had gone there to meet someone, who police believe to be responsible for then stabbing the victim “a number of times”.
