Police speak to family of missing Kesgrave man Paul Moore after body is discovered in Chelmondiston

The body of a man has been discovered in Chelmondiston as police investigate the disappearance of missing Kesgrave man Paul Moore.

Officers were called by a member of the public who had discovered the body on the shoreline at around 5.30pm yesterday, Friday, March 9.

A police spokesman said that the death is being treated as unexplained and that formal identification is still to take place.

He added: “The family of missing 44-year-old Paul Moore from Kesgrave who was last seen at around 4pm on Tuesday, February 6, in the Nacton village area have been informed of this development.”

A large scale search for Mr Moore was launched after he was reported missing to police on Thursday, February 8.

As concerns grew for his welfare, officers launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Areas around the Nacton foreshore, nearby wooded areas and parts of Orwell Country Park were then searched by officers.

They were later assisted by Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue and HM Coastguard.

While it remains a missing persons enquiry, the Major Investigation Team later took over the supervision of the investigation.

On Sunday, February 25, a man in his 30s from the Ipswich area was arrested in connection with Mr Moore’s disappearance.

He was later released under investigation while the search continues.

Last week, police released a photograph of an Omega watch Mr Moore was believed to be wearing at the time of his disappearance.

The watch is described as an Omega Seamaster Chronograph Professional model bearing the serial number 86673098.

It is thought it may have become lost or mislaid by Mr Moore.

When he was last seen, he was wearing white trainers, grey jogging bottoms and a distinctive Dolce and Gabbana grey hooded top with pink flowers on it.

He is described as white, 6ft tall, of stocky build and with mousy hair.
