ARRESTS have today been made in connection with three armed robberies in Ipswich.

Officers investigating robberies on May 16 at Alldays in Laburnham Close and Threshers off licence in Bramford Lane, and another at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Felixstowe Road on May 18, arrested two men this morning

A 46-year-old man and a 36-year-old man are currently in custody at Ipswich Police Station.

A police spokeswoman said today that both men are from the Ipswich area.

They are the second and third men arrested in the investigation.

On June 11, Suffolk Police said they had arrested a 36-year-old man from Ipswich man in connection with the three armed robberies.

He was bailed to return to Ipswich Police Station on July 15.

The Star told in May how two raiders burst into the KFC holding what was believed to be a sawn-off shotgun.

It happened just two days after a man armed with a sawn-off shotgun robbed the Thresher Wine Shop and threatened female shop assistants before running off with cash.

Less than two hours later, the Alldays store was hit and two female members of staff were threatened and cash and phone cards stolen.
