IF YOU want to make a difference in your community, why not join a safer neighbourhood team?

A special constabulary information evening is taking place at the Ramada Hotel, Symonds Road, off the A14 Bury East exit, on Monday, April 14, at 7.30pm.

The role of the special constable will be explained and potential applicants will be able to speak to existing special officers.

Volunteers wishing to join must be fit, aged 18 and over, and be able to commit to a minimum of ten hours service a month.

Specials carry out a range of duties from general patrol to street briefings with the community.
