A 42-YEAR-old Suffolk policeman arrested in connection with a murder that took place in Guyana, South America more than 20 years ago has today been charged with murder.
A 42-YEAR-old Suffolk policeman arrested in connection with a murder that took place in Guyana, South America more than 20 years ago has today been charged with murder.
Michael Andrew Cheong, of Peterhouse Cresent, Woodbridge, was today charged with the murder of Brian Spencer, 23, in the Linden Highway area of Guyana in 1982.
Cheong was suspended from duty at the time of his arrest on November 10 last year.
He is due to appear at Bow Street Magistrates Court, London, tomorrow.
