SUFFOLK police constable Dez Thompson was due in court today charged with wasting police time after sparking an armed manhunt.Thompson, 32, of Bardwell, near Bury St Edmunds, was due to appear before magistrates in Lowestoft following a claim to have come under fire when approaching some men in car near Stradbroke.
SUFFOLK police constable Dez Thompson was due in court today charged with wasting police time after sparking an armed manhunt.
Thompson, 32, of Bardwell, near Bury St Edmunds, was due to appear before magistrates in Lowestoft following a claim to have come under fire when approaching some men in car near Stradbroke.
He was based at Eye police station at the time of the alleged incident on March 12 near Stradbroke.
Suffolk police confirmed that an officer has been suspended from duty in connection with the incident and is facing action from an internal police disciplinary panel.
