Poll: Father and son throw open doors to new tented Waterfront restaurant
A NEW restaurant is today open for business and taking bookings at its stunning Waterfront location.
Eight months of renovations to the tented building at Orwell Quay have been completed to create the Aurora Bar and Restaurant.
The new venture was the brainchild of father and son team Steve and Callum Hewitt.
Callum told The Star: “It’s been a lengthy process but I am so pleased to finally be able to open our doors and welcome people into Aurora.
“We wanted everything to be perfect before opening so we can provide Ipswich with a real dining ‘experience’.
“We’ve used local craftsmen for our renovations, and Orwells Furniture has provided two spectacular bars which form the centrepieces of both the downstairs bar and upstairs restaurant.
“We’ve got a fantastic and progressive chef who isn’t afraid to try new things and push the taste boundaries.
