LORRY drivers were being warned today of possible disruption at the Port of Felixstowe.
A port spokeswoman said winds were expected to be above 45mph - the safe working limit for the high-rise quayside cranes which unload the ships - throughout much of the day and could hit 54mph.
Operation Stack will probably have to be put in place and truckers should be prepared to delay their journeys or park up on the old A45 at Levington until the weather improves.
“It is likely the winds will cause disruption to shipping, yard and rail operations and lorry traffic is likely to be affected as a result,” she said.
