THE Ipswich port operator has today been fined £100,000 after a worker suffered severe head injuries in an accident at Cliff Quay.David Gammell, 22, had been a worker for Associated British Ports when he fell eight metres between two stacks of containers on the Werfen ship on November 8 last year.

David Gammell, 22, had been a worker for Associated British Ports when he fell eight metres between two stacks of containers on the Werfen ship on November 8 last year.

ABP pleaded guilty to failing to ensure its employee was not exposed to risks of health and safety without adequate training and supervision.
