Bones that were discovered on Felixstowe beach today are being examined to work out if they are human.
Officers from Suffolk Constabulary were called to the beach near the Spa Pavilion at 2.15pm by a member of the public.
A police spokeswoman said: “A number of bones have been recovered from the beach and these are being sent for examination to determine whether or not they are human and how old they may be.”
