On Friday, June 2, staff and customers at the newsagents, which has a Post Office counter inside, was found locked with a sign saying only “closed”.

The store, which is on the corner of Foxhall Road and Heath Road, has remained closed meaning the Post Office has not been able to open its counter there.

A spokeswoman from Post Office said plans were ongoing to restore its services in the area.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Heath Road Post Office, Ipswich due to operational reasons,” she said. “We are working hard to restore Post Office service to the area as soon as possible.

“Alternative branches include Rushmere Heath, Queens Way, Cauldwell Hall Road and Selkirk Road.”

An update on the situation is expected later this month.
