A POWER cut affected homes in Kesgrave and Martlesham today.

Around 2,900 homes were without power after an underground cable fault interrupted power supply just after 3am.

A spokeswoman for EDF Energy said: “EDF Energy Networks engineers restored supplies to 1,400 customers within a few minutes.

“A further 1,458 customers were reconnected by 4.38am.

“All bar two supplies were restored at 8.40am. Work is continuing to restore the remaining two customers as quickly as possible.

“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
