POWER has been restored to all homes and businesses affected by an outage caused by an underground cable fault.

EDF Energy Networks reported 1,671 customers lost power at 1.27am in Sidegate Lane, Rivers Street, Parade Road, Lonsdale Close, and Woodbridge Road.
Engineers had restored power to the majority of customers by 3.54am.
Further work enabled another 45 properties to be put back on supply at 4.25am and power was restored to all customers affected by 10.15am.
EDF said the cause was not related to the poor weather in the area overnight and apologised to all customers affected for the inconvenience caused.
