CHURCHES across Felixstowe are taking part in a week of prayer with events at different places of worship for people to pray for the world, their community and enjoy times of personal reflection.

The week – which runs until Friday, January 25 – is organised by the Churches Together in Felixstowe movement.

Today, Sunday, January 20, there will be a Unity Service at 6.30pm at St John’s Church, Orwell Road, when people from the different congregations and denominations will contribute.

Opening prayers for the prayer week took place at St Felix Catholic Church, Gainsborough Road, with mass followed by a Christian Aid lunch.

From Monday, January 21 to Friday, January 25, from 7am to 10pm daily, there will be a prayer event at the Salvation Army and people can drop in any time.

There will be a series of events at other churches, including a Ladies’ Breakfast, Reflections, Women’s Fellowship, and Holy Communion services.
