IF RUNNING through central London is appealing but the distance of a marathon puts you off, this could the event for you.
St Elizabeth Hospice, based in Foxhall Road, Ipswich, is looking for runners to sign up for the British 10k London Run on Sunday, July 6, to raise money for the charity.
Starting at 9.35am on Piccadilly near Hyde Park corner, tens of thousands of runners will pass world famous landmarks such as St James' Palace, Trafalgar Square, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, London Eye and the Houses of Parliament before finishing along Whitehall.
Laura Backhouse, community fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We are really excited to be offering people the chance to take part in this brilliant event and show their support for the hospice. The race has actually sold out for the last three years so we recommend runners contact us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”
St Elizabeth Hospice only has 24 spaces available for the 10k run and the registration fee is £29.50.
Runners should aim to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship. There is also a ladies only breakfast 5k run beginning at 8.35am. For more information regarding the British 10k or ladies 5k please contact the fundraising office on 01473 723600 or visit www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk.
