ANGLIAN Water's parent company has more than doubled its profits after a hike in household water bills last year.AWG, which owns the water company, recorded a 138pc rise in pre-tax profits to £135 million for the last financial year, compared with £56.

AWG, which owns the water company, recorded a 138pc rise in pre-tax profits to £135 million for the last financial year, compared with £56.8 million the year before.
Chief executive Jonson Cox denied the company was making profits at the expense of customers.
