Priest guilty on child porn charges

A CATHOLIC priest is facing a possible jail term after pleading guilty to possessing and distributing child pornography.

Father John Ashman, 54, of Newmarket Road, Kirtling, admitted nine charges of making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of children and three charges of distributing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.

A CATHOLIC priest is facing a possible jail term after pleading guilty to possessing and distributing child pornography.

Father John Ashman, 54, of Newmarket Road, Kirtling, admitted nine charges of making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of children and three charges of distributing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.

Ashman, assistant priest at the Church of Our Lady in Exeter Road in Newmarket, was said to have committed the offences between January 1 and August 15.
